The Scootboot TheraRide is the most innovative hoof boot on the planet. By combining therapeutic support with the rideability of our Scootboot Classic, your horse can enjoy additional support, even after they’ve healed. With its recessed sole, customised pads can be interchanged depending on your horse's specific needs.

Why Choose the Scootboot TheraRide?

  • Dual Purpose Design: TheraRide is the only therapeutic boot suitable for both therapy and riding, supporting hoses through transitioning, recovery and activity.
  • Shock Absorption: Features a specially designed honeycomb TPU pad that absorbs concussion.
  • Rehabilitation: provides relief from hoof pathologies such as navicular, pedal osteitis, ringbone, sidebone and thin/bruised soles.

Each TheraRide boot comes with bulb straps and mud straps attached. These provide a high level of adjustability.

The Accessory Bag contains multiple spare parts, and a full list is below. These include additional sizes of mud straps and bulb strap extenders to lift the bulb strap higher on the bulbs to accommodate high heels.

The bulb strap gaiters can be used to prevent potential chafing and add extra comfort on long rides.

There are two types of pads included with the TheraRide boots:

  • Therapy Pads (TPU) – This is the yellow honeycomb pad that comes fitted with your boot and is the main pad designed for this product. This pad has a high level of shock absorption and is extremely durable. It can be used for rehabilitation and riding.
  • Standard Pads (EVA) – The standard pad in the accessory bag is designed for comfort and light riding. It is not intended for long-term use or long-distance riding. These pads are not as durable as the therapy pad due to the nature of the material (EVA) and will compress after use, but they should return to their initial size when rested. These can also be used in conjunction with any custom pad.

Fit like a glove

Unfortunately my horse lacerated his heel right after I purchased my Scoot Boot TheraRides, so I haven’t been able to actually ride in them yet, but when I test fit them they fit like a glove! They look very durable and comfortable and easy to use and I can’t wait to take them for a spin!

Poor Exchange System

This review is not about the quality of the product itself, but about the return system Scoot Boots has in place. I purchased my boots based on measurements I carefully took, but they didn’t fit, and I had to cover the return shipping cost myself — which I expected. The real issue, however, is that my return is now stuck in customs. In all my years as a customer, this is the first time I’ve experienced such a frustrating process. Scoot Boots should have clearly informed customers upfront about potential customs issues and provided a way to return items using their own courier service, even if the cost was on us. Because this was not offered, I’m now at the mercy of USPS and inefficient customs handling. For such an expensive product, the lack of support is disappointing. I will never purchase directly from your site again and would not recommend others do so either.

So Happy

After months of rehabilitating my horse I have chosen to purchase the Scootboot TheraRide. I had my first ride out and it went really well. I was extremely happy with order process communication through to delivery. Sadly I have only had the chance to use once as my horse has gone lame with an abscess now. I look forward once he’s better again to continue using the TheraRide’s.

Scootboot theraride

These boots worked horribly for my thoroughbred. He was not able to keep them on for more than 24 hours, even sized correctly and put on correctly. He started developing swelling and lameness in his right front with the boots on for even a couple of days, and as I went to take the boots off, I noticed horrible rubs from them, that are now infected. I spent a lot of time and money towards this, and I am very disappointed. My horse is still currently having trouble with infected rubs and lameness
