What accessories are included?

Each TheraRide boot comes with bulb straps and mud straps attached. These provide a high level of adjustability.

The Accessory Bag contains multiple spare parts, and a full list is below. These include additional sizes of mud straps and bulb strap extenders to lift the bulb strap higher on the bulbs to accommodate high heels.

The bulb strap gaiters can be used to prevent potential chafing and add extra comfort on long rides.

There are two types of pads included with the TheraRide boots:

  • Therapy Pads (TPU) – This is the yellow honeycomb pad that comes fitted with your boot and is the main pad designed for this product. This pad has a high level of shock absorption and is extremely durable. It can be used for rehabilitation and riding.
  • Standard Pads (EVA) – The standard pad in the accessory bag is designed for comfort and light riding. It is not intended for long-term use or long-distance riding. These pads are not as durable as the therapy pad due to the nature of the material (EVA) and will compress after use, but they should return to their initial size when rested. These can also be used in conjunction with any custom pad.

Very nice boots!

This is my first pair of TheraRides, my mare has worn Classics in the past. Now needs a bit of cushion, these offer a nice fit & the pads sit securely in the boots. I am very happy with the quality & hope to get many miles from them!

easy boot review

I have tried several brands of easy boots over the years. The scoot boot by far is the best one for fit that I have found. Very easy to put on. Which can be a difficult process.
I chose scoot boots because they offered regular pads and wedge pads for their boots. A bonus when you have a horse with thin soles and off angles like I have.

"My 20 year-old OTTB has been wearing his classic hind boots for the past week with the multipurpose gators. I really did not want to put shoes on him and this is a great alternative. They are easy to put on and take off and I have definitely noticed a difference when riding on hard pavement."

"I bought Scootboots for two horses and they both absolutely love them! The fit process was thorough and produced a perfect fit. When we started using the boots, there was an immediate difference in the ride. Both horses have been barefoot for years, but they had so much more confidence on rough ground. Highly recommended product!"

"I'm very happy with my purchase of Scootboots. I was worried they might damage my mare's sensitive skin, but there have been no issues so far. The boots are a bit harder in winter but softened quickly with use. They stayed secure during wet and muddy rides."

Common Questions

Can I ride in Scootboot TheraRide?

Yes. TheraRide is designed to support horses during therapy, rehab or barefoot transition, while still being suitable for riding. It is best for horses that need more cushioning and hoof protection than a standard riding boot.

How do I know if my horse needs TheraRide instead of Classic or Adjust?

We can advise you! Choose TheraRide if your horse has sensitive soles, thin or bruised soles, is transitioning barefoot, or needs pads for extra support. If your horse is sound and needs a boot for regular riding, Classic or Adjust may be more suitable.

Which TheraRide pad should I use?

Use the Therapy Pad for stronger support, shock absorption and rehab-style use. Use the Standard Pad for comfort, lighter support or when your horse is transitioning back into regular riding. Use the 3-Degree Wedge Pad only when recommended.

Do I need to size up when using TheraRide pads?

No. TheraRide is designed with a recessed sole cavity, so the pads sit inside the boot without changing the fit. You should still use the Scootboot sizing service to make sure the boot fits correctly.

Can TheraRide help with laminitis, navicular or thin soles?

TheraRide can provide protection, cushioning and support for horses with hoof sensitivity, thin soles, bruised soles, navicular-related discomfort or recovery after laminitic events. It should be used as part of a proper hoof care plan.
