The Scootboot TheraRide is the most innovative hoof boot on the planet. By combining therapeutic support with the rideability of our Scootboot Classic, your horse can enjoy additional support, even after they’ve healed. With its recessed sole, customised pads can be interchanged depending on your horse's specific needs.

Why Choose the Scootboot TheraRide?

  • Dual Purpose Design: TheraRide is the only therapeutic boot suitable for both therapy and riding, supporting hoses through transitioning, recovery and activity.
  • Shock Absorption: Features a specially designed honeycomb TPU pad that absorbs concussion.
  • Rehabilitation: provides relief from hoof pathologies such as navicular, pedal osteitis, ringbone, sidebone and thin/bruised soles.

Each TheraRide boot comes with bulb straps and mud straps attached. These provide a high level of adjustability.

The Accessory Bag contains multiple spare parts, and a full list is below. These include additional sizes of mud straps and bulb strap extenders to lift the bulb strap higher on the bulbs to accommodate high heels.

The bulb strap gaiters can be used to prevent potential chafing and add extra comfort on long rides.

There are two types of pads included with the TheraRide boots:

  • Therapy Pads (TPU) – This is the yellow honeycomb pad that comes fitted with your boot and is the main pad designed for this product. This pad has a high level of shock absorption and is extremely durable. It can be used for rehabilitation and riding.
  • Standard Pads (EVA) – The standard pad in the accessory bag is designed for comfort and light riding. It is not intended for long-term use or long-distance riding. These pads are not as durable as the therapy pad due to the nature of the material (EVA) and will compress after use, but they should return to their initial size when rested. These can also be used in conjunction with any custom pad.

For navicular

It took a bit for me and Pearl to adjust to the new boots, but the main motivation was to give her something that allowed more flexibility and lightweight. They have delivered on both those fronts. The only complaint I would have is the included wedge pad with the boots With her condition, she definitely needs a wedge pad, but the one included is made out of foam and in one day totally compressed and served no purpose thank goodness my Ferrier was able to supply me with a different one I cut to fit and it seems to be helping her I did order the 3° that you guys make in the better material but since she has improved with just the 2° for now, I’m using that I hope that she will continue to improve, but time will tell

Sadly disappointed

Both boots came off at the first ride in the first canter. Other boot I didn't ever find so it was very expensive experiment... I had big hopes for these as my horse has some soreness issues. I have had scoot boot classics since 2016 and they have never came off, but I really hope they would have thicker sole so I was really excited about thera rides at first. I use scoot 0 slim classics and bought 0 thera ride which was suppose to be equal to 0 slim classic size and also is right size per sizing chart. But these felt a bit bigger (especially wider) from the start. I really hope you could do this same thera ride sole solution with classic model.

Too difficult to put on

These boots are nicely made. I was so excited to try them out. But my 72 year old arthritic hands could not manage the fasteners. Without even putting on my mares hoof I realized they will not work for me. Add into this my mare hates boots and pitched a fit as soon as I tried to put them on her. Must return, sadly.

Fit like a glove

Unfortunately my horse lacerated his heel right after I purchased my Scoot Boot TheraRides, so I haven’t been able to actually ride in them yet, but when I test fit them they fit like a glove! They look very durable and comfortable and easy to use and I can’t wait to take them for a spin!
